In early May, we will publish the next edition of our annual directory, “CEE Business Services Directory”, targeting large, international corporates who are expanding (or starting) their Business Services centres in CEE, or hiring BPO providers or vendors in the region.
Here is link to the 2019 edition. EPAM Systems, a global product development, digital platform engineering, and digital and product design agency signed a 2,100 sqm new office lease contract in Debrecen’s newly developed Forest Offices in December 2019. EPAM Systems moved to the first floor of the five-storey office building in February 2020. Cushman & Wakefield advised Capstone Befektetési Alapkezelő Zrt representing, Garda Ingatlan Fejlesztő Befeketetési Alap the owner of Forest Offices, in the lease negotiations.
Krisztina Enzsöl, Senior Office Negotiator at Cushman & Wakefield, Budapest commented on the transaction: “Securing the first tenant in a newly developed office building is always a pleasure. Not many multinational companies choose countryside locations in Hungary, so this transaction is outstanding for more reasons. We are happy that we were able to offer a suitable option to satisfy EPAM’s expansion and relocation needs within the same city.” Forest Offices is a new, 22 000 sqm Class A office building with three towers, 10 minutes away from Debrecen’s city centre. The complex is in the core catchment area of the University of Debrecen in a green area. This sustainable office complex is certified LEED Gold and has an energetically efficient architectural design with large, naturally lit areas and 200 underground parking spaces. Six years ago one of the largest privately owned logistics companies in the Nordic region Greencarrier Group established a Shared Service Centre (SSC) in Klaipėda, Lithuania. The center now employs over 70 people and is planning to expand and hire new specialists. The company also decided to start utilizing robotic process automation for further improving its services.
The company is present in some of the biggest ports and most important trading hubs in 11 regions. Greencarrier Service Center provides full financial and centralized logistics operational services to Group internal clients located in the Nordic and Baltics countries. Currently, Greencarrier Service Center is starting to develop new innovative solutions, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA). In fact, Greencarrier will be the first Shared Service Centre in Klaipeda to have a pilot RPA project. “Even though see efficiency and cost improvements from re-locating work from the Nordics to our Servie Centre we see a potiential in RPA to handle repetitive and non value-adding tasks. We want all our employees, of course also in the Service Centre, to handle meaningful, value adding and developing tasks“, says Svante Johansson, chief financial officer at Greencarrier. US oil services giant Baker Hughes has opened a new HR Shared Services center in Budapest - branded as "People Operations”, according to Richard Bryce, who is charge of opening the center. "It’s part of our global strategy within Baker Hughes, and we actually had a “formal” opening of our “Budapest HR Global Centre” in late February.. We plan to support our employees in key HR lifecycle activities from that location, utilising our new “Workday” HR platform which we have just implemented this week!", said Bryce.

This is a VIP Invitation to a small, select number of Site Directors at Poznan-based Business Services centres to join a highly-confidential, online ZOOM teleconference on Tuesday, 24 March from 11:00 – 11:45am.
The topic is “Best practices for operating SSCs during CV crisis-time”. The goal is to encourage sharing of ideas and learnings during these extraordinary times. While most of us can not meet each other, we have heads full of ideas and we want to replicate the confidential, small-talk exchange that is so valuable at small focused events. As moderator, I will “kick-off” the discussion by asking participants to tell us what steps you have already implemented in the last 5-7 days; then, the topics of discussion will be anything that you want to discuss that is productive, results-oriented and actionable. The number of participants is limited to only 5. We believe that more participants would make it unmanageable and less-productive. Rules of the teleconference: a) Highly-confidential and each participant agrees to this in advance. b) No recording of the conversation (neither from Organizer's side or participants) c) Strict time control. We'll be “on” at 11am and finished by 11:45am. d) Platform: Organizer will send participants a ZOOM video invitation to join. e) White Paper Summary: After this “Best Practices Roundtable Teleconference”, we will summarize key conclusions (with zero attribution of comments so as to fully preserve confidentiality) and we will send this summary ONLY to participants – and within 24 hours. Additional Benefit: We plan to do 7 of these Teleconferences in next2 weeks, and all those who join one discussion will also receive the subsequent WhitePapers from all discussions. f) Participants are expected to “give” and not just “get” - so the moderator will encourage healthy participation from all attendees. If you would like to join this conversation, please register here (we are charging 200euro with payment via credit card). Schedule:
