On June 1, Ciech Services, a Shared Services Center for the CIECH Capital Group, will open its new office in Bydgoszcz. The office is located in the Arkada Business Park building, a modern office space in which 40 people will find employment in the initial phase, mainly specialists in the area of accounting and finance.
Recruitment processes are currently underway for existing vacancies, and in the future, the scale of operations of the new company located in Bydgoszcz may increase. The new investment of CIECH in Bydgoszcz was created in cooperation with the City of Bydgoszcz and the Bydgoszcz Regional Development Agency (BARR). Establishment of CIECH Services results from the strategy of the CIECH Group and changes in the division of competences between individual business areas. In line with this concept, the CIECH Group has decided to centralize the support functions within CIECH Services, which will perform the role of a shared services center. Selected support function services, such as accounting and financial services, will be provided from Bydgoszcz. "When creating the shared services center for the CIECH Group, we considered several locations. The choice was determined by the strong advantages of Bydgoszcz, incl. availability of staff, academic background and a business-friendly environment. The issues related to the location and network of roads are also important, as well as the fact that we have very good experience resulting from the operation of CIECH Pianki in Bydgoszcz", says Rafał Czubiński, President of the Management Board of CIECH Services and Managing Director at CIECH S.A. According to the EY report ["Impact of the CIECH Group on the Polish economy, with particular emphasis on the industrial sector"], in 2018 the direct, indirect and induced effects of the CIECH Group's operations generated PLN 46 million of added value in the Bydgoszcz poviat, over 200 jobs and approx. PLN 2 million of revenues to local government budgets. Thanks to the location of a new office in Bydgoszcz, this positive impact may increase even more. "Congratulations on the next stage of development of the CIECH Group. I am glad that the company notices and uses the economic advantages of our city, which include, among others a good business climate, human capital and the availability of modern office space. Professional support provided to investors by the Bydgoszcz Regional Development Agency is also important. I hope that Bydgoszcz and the Arkada Business Park office space, which you have chosen to create your first Shared Services Center, will be a favorable environment for the effective implementation of the ambitious vision of the further development of the CIECH Group", says Rafał Bruski, Mayor of Bydgoszcz. The most innovative projects in the business services industry were awarded at the ABSL Romania Awards Gala, 24 May.
ABSL (The Association of Business Service Leaders in Romania) awarded the most relevant projects in the business services industry. The event, in its 6th edition, took place online. The most valuable projects carried out by companies in several categories (such as innovation, business excellence, CSR, colleague of the year), were judged and presented to the audience. "Fortunately, our industry was perhaps the best prepared for isolation. The very term of outsourcing says this intrinsically, as it consists of activities that are done, by definition, remotely. However, 2020 brought many challenges to the companies in the industry, in areas such as project and team management, teamwork, ensuring continuity of services from the very first days of the pandemic and delivering them at the highest level to customers all around the world, as well as the recruitment process. Last year took to the next level the attention that companies pay to employees, their families and the community. It also gave a push to digitalization, process automation and innovation, as proven by the projects entered in the competition", says Ciprian Dan, President of ABSL. The winners of this edition are: The Business Leaders in Business Excellence category, which seeks to recognize the highest productivity and significant improvement in results, was won by Deutsche Bank Global Technology, followed by Wipro Technologies and Microsoft Romania, in the second 2nd and 3rd places. Deutsche Bank Global Technology won thanks to its eAuction project, a tool developed by the company's Procurement Team. This software allows suppliers of goods and services to compete online, in real time and to provide best prices for goods and services. The Business Leaders in Business Innovation category focuses on rewarding the development of innovative solutions, the most important feature of the business services industry. The winning company is Hewlett Packard Enterprise, followed by Deutsche Telekom Services Europe Romania and Wipro Technologies in the 2nd position and Goodyear Operation Romania in the 3rd. The Edge-to-Office project, developed by Hewlett Packard Enterprise, is a new program which boldly reimagines the way teammates work. It’s a different take on hybrid work – one designed to emphasize that team members are connected no matter where their workplace is located, as they are united by the DNA of the company that has as central points organizational culture, goals and customers. The relation with customers and partners has been the biggest challenge throughout the pandemic, because it often involved major changes in the way we organize or interact. The Business Leaders in Customer Experience category rewards the best solutions found by companies in improving services and customer relations. This year, the first place is won by two companies - Microsoft Romania and Wipro Technologies. The second place went to Societe Generale Global Solution Center and the 3rd place to Allianz Partners Bucharest. The Business Leaders in CSR category was won by Societe Generale Global Solution Center, the 2nd place went to Deloitte Regional Audit Delivery Center and the 3rd place to Deutsche Bank Global Technology. Code Hero, the winning project developed by Societe Generale Global Solution Center, helps 2,000 children between the ages of 9 and 13 in rural areas or small towns develop digital skills, programming and the so-called "soft skills" (financial education, public speaking, how to make a good presentation etc) so that they later have an increased chance of finding a job. The Business Leaders in Talent Development & Education category was won this year by Deloitte Regional Audit Delivery Center and by Eucom Business Language. The 2nd place went to Genpact and the 3rd place went to Teleperformance Romania. The Onboarding program, developed by the Deloitte Regional Audit Delivery Center, is dedicated to juniors hired through online recruitment and involves four-week online trainings that develop technical and teamwork skills. #LearningMustGoOn is the project developed by Eucom Business Language. The project consists of monthly meetings in which Personal Development and business books are presented, and many of the most important ideas encountered and discussed during these meetings, including with the authors of these books, are turned into action points to be later implemented Valentina Ponorache of Hewlett Packard Enterprise won the Collegue of the Year category.
