The German global supplier of parts for the automotive industry has officially opened its Wroclaw Business and IT Services Center for Europe. Anna Berczyńska, Managing Partner, Director of Global Business Service Organization, said they aim to employ 800 people in the new BSC operation, which will provide group services, such as F&A, IT, purchasing, and logistics. The Schaeffler Group is a global automotive and industrial supplier, employing 92,000 people, and in 2017 generated revenues of EUR 14 billion.

Harman has opened a new office facility in Lodz, Poland, with 350 engineers developing automotive solutions including the company's summit car audio platform, Ignite platform, OTA software management and maps services. The company has also signed separate agreements with two Polish universities; Lodz Faculty of Physics and Applied Informatics as well as Lodz University of Technology/Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering.

As part of the agreement, Harman will work with both universities to undertake joint research projects, develop academic research papers and software engineering for embedded systems. Harman will also actively hire both interns and permanent employees from the universities.

Recruitment for new projects is ongoing, and the company is seeking Eastern European engineers to join its team in Lodz.

DB Schenker Global Service Europe S.R.L. and the DB Schenker Global Business Services S.R.L., assuring international operational support for DB Schenker, Arriva and DB Cargo, became officially DB Schenker GBS Bucharest S.R.L. starting in November.

The new entity counts over 1.100 employees and the merger will bring a global perspective, structure and alignment of all activities within the group’s companies, at high class standards.

Set for 13 June in New York, the annual USA-Europe Business Services Awards returns to America's capital of business New York for its 3rd year. Newest Jury members signed up in December include US-based global directors at PepsiCo, Zoetis, Harman, and 3M.
