IBM Client Innovation Centre in Székesfehérvár, which provides IT services, server operation, system management and development, has decided to create 300 new jobs. The almost EUR 9.7 million investment to be realized by 31 December 2021 will be carried out while retaining the currently employed 1,731 people.
The task of new colleagues is planned to be related to the remote monitoring of computer software systems. Remote monitoring means the supervision of the functioning of operational and financial activities, teamwork promoting and corresponding, as well as production support systems of foreign clients. IBM also maintains close relations with institutions of higher education in Hungary; their Dual Education Programme was officially launched in 2015, leading to 71 students joining their centres from Óbuda and Corvinus University so far. Hungary has become one of the leading international centres of business services in the Central and Eastern European region over the past decade, and based on the latest data from HIPA 131 Business Services Centres offer 63,892 people jobs and long-term career opportunities. The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) has organized an online event and award ceremony for the sixth time. This year again, a comprehensive survey with the participation of 67 companies was conducted among the business service centres (BSCs), whose results were the focal point of the online presentations. The event was hosted by HIPA in partnership with the AmCham Hungary BSS Platform, and this year the prestigious awards handed over at the event were granted to ExxonMobil, Eve Bader, general manager of Roche Services (Europe) and NI Hungary.
CENTER OF EXCELLENCE OF THE YEAR: ExxonMobil Based on the Business Services Survey 2020, last year's results, and the complexity of its operations, ExxonMobil is awarded as the center of excellence of the year. The company expanded its service portfolio, initiated various new high value added functions and it has contributed to the continuous development of the BSC sector in Hungary.
