Oakley Capital to acquire majority stake in Bulgaria-active Graphwise

London-based private equity firm Oakley Capital said that its Fund VI has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Bulgaria-active AI solutions provider Graphwise.

The investment will support Graphwise in developing its commercial capabilities and go-to-market strategy, strengthening its presence in key international markets and pursuing selective acquisitions, Oakley Capital said in a press release, without disclosing financial details.

In October 2024, Bulgarian data management software company Ontotext and Austria-based semantic AI solutions provider Semantic Web Company merged to form Graphwise.

In September 2022, Bulgarian software developer Sirma Group sold a majority stake in Ontotext, then known as Sirma AI, to a fund of London-based Integral Venture Partners in a deal valuing the company at 28.5 million euro.

Graphwise's software structures enterprise data into knowledge graphs, adding context and connections to support AI applications. The company’s annual recurring revenue has grown organically by more than 30% a year, Oakley Capital said.

London-based Oakley Capital is a private equity investor focused on the technology, consumer, education, and business services sectors, according to its website.
