Nextbase expands to Gdansk with New AI and Cloud Center to support UK

Nextbase, the world’s leading manufacturer of smart dashcams, has opened a new branch office in Gdańsk, Poland. The expansion strengthens the company’s international R&D network, providing additional capacity to its Wales-based global hub for product development and engineering. 

The Gdańsk team will work in close collaboration with colleagues in the United Kingdom, focusing on software engineering, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and next-generation automotive safety and connectivity solutions. 
– Wales remains the heart of our global R&D operation, but with growing demand for intelligent automotive-based imaging technology, we are excited to expand with a supporting hub in Gdańsk – said Ceri Hill, Director of Engineering at Nextbase. – Poland offers outstanding technical expertise that will allow us to accelerate innovation while maintaining Wales as the core of our product development. 

The Polish operation will be led by Maja Tomczak as site leader and project engineering manager. – I feel honored that the new center is being established in Gdańsk, where we will find great talent and deliver solutions that harness the technological potential of the Polish market while bringing value to Nextbase customers around the globe – she commented. 
Nextbase entered Poland in 2021, quickly establishing a strong market presence with its award-winning dashcams. The new center is part of Nextbase Labs, the company’s global innovation unit, and will initially employ 20 engineers with plans for further expansion and collaboration with local universities and startups. 

With headquarters in London and offices in Wales, the United States, Germany, Japan, and China, the Nextbase team includes nearly 200 people worldwide. The new Gdańsk center further strengthens this global footprint and responds to rapidly rising demand for advanced automotive technologies.
