In September 2025, Romania’s government, in partnership with EU funding, announced a €150 million initiative to enhance digital infrastructure supporting the GBS sector. This includes upgrades to high-speed internet and data centers in key cities like Bucharest and Brașov, aimed at attracting more GBS investments. The initiative follows Romania’s strong 2024 FDI performance, with 94 projects, including significant growth in business support services. The funding will support new service centers and training programs to bolster Romania’s skilled workforce, further driving GBS expansion.

Microsoft announced a $700 million investment to expand its cloud and AI infrastructure in Poland by mid-2026, building on its 2023 Polish datacenter region, the first in Central and Eastern Europe. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for scalable, enterprise-grade cloud solutions from Polish organizations. The investment will enhance Poland’s position as a hub for digital transformation services, creating high-skill jobs in cloud computing and AI-driven business services. Microsoft will also collaborate with Polish National Defense to develop AI competencies, further strengthening Poland’s GBS ecosystem.
The Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) scheduled its annual Business Forum for November 5–7, 2025, at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw. The event will focus on promoting Poland’s export potential in business services, including GBS, by connecting global investors with Polish firms. This initiative aligns with Poland’s growing reputation as a center for business process outsourcing (BPO) and shared services, driven by its skilled workforce and competitive labor costs. The forum is expected to attract significant foreign direct investment (FDI) into Poland’s GBS sector.

Emerson is set to invest EUR 6.2 million and create over fifty new jobs in two projects with the support of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA). At its center of excellence in Székesfehérvár, which primarily serves clients in France and Germany, Emerson will create forty new jobs in areas such as engineering and resource planning. Key objectives of the development of the business service center include the optimization of sales processes and customer experience. The second project will be implemented at Emerson’s research and development (R&D) center in Debrecen, where 16 additional experts will join the team. The R&D center focuses on the automotive sector, building on the operations of National Instruments, which was acquired by Emerson in 2023. Emerson also concluded a strategic partnership agreement with the Hungarian Government, aimed at strengthening the firm’s long-term presence in Hungary. The implementation of the agreement is coordinated by HIPA. Emerson has become the 98th strategic partner of the Government. The first agreement was concluded with Coca-Cola HBC in 2012. The partnership program aims to incentivize investment in Hungary, boost employment, promote higher value-added production, integrate foreign corporations into vocational training and tighten relations with domestic suppliers. As a global leader in industrial automation solutions, Emerson serves a wide range of sectors from automotive manufacturing and mining to renewable energy production with a workforce of over 70,000 professionals. In the 2023–2024 business year, the company generated nearly EUR 15 billion in revenue.
