Build it or Buy It?: Outsourcing in Poland and Central Eastern Europe

In cooperation with the Boston Business Journal, EBSA is organizing a 1-hour "techinar" for Boston and other northeast US corporates who are keen to expand their IT, tech, F&A, or HR sourcing, or setting up their own captive Shared-services organization.

While many Boston-based corporates have already set up Business Services centres in CEE and Poland (Moderna, Mass Mutual, State Street), the concept, business-model and business-case is somewhat new to mid-sized corporates.

This Techinar will explore the advantages and disadvantages of "going it alone" for a full-on, captive centre - or partnering with service providers on the ground in Poland and CEE.

Date: 22 August 2023, via ZOOM, and set for EST time zone of 9-10am (15:00-16:00 Central Europe time zone).

Meet the Panelists:

Paul Bartley
- Former Director of both Baxter International and Becton Dickinson's (BD) Global Shared Services centers in Poland. Deep experiences in Poland building F&A and IT BSCs.
Greg Lipper, Global Head of Operations, Nuance/Microsoft.
- Nuance (a Microsoft-owned company) provides AI solutions. Previously, Lipper was Head of Global Business Services for Staples (Poland GBS) and instrumental in the operations of NASDAQ (with a GBS in Lithuania).
Szymon Stadnik, CEO, Itelence
- Itelence serves primarily US, Swiss and Scandinavian mid-sized corporates which are sourcing F&A and IT services from Poland. Szymon is CEO and founder of Itelence, and is a Chartered Accountant, having previously worked with KPMG.
